All Exceptional Emergency Centers can test for Covid-19.

About Our Covid care

WE ARE NOT A TESTING CENTER.

We are a Freestanding Emergency Room offering COVID-19 testing to help our physicians diagnose and contain the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. Our goal is to diagnose patients faster so they can be treated and aware of their COVID-19 status. While we have the ability to test patients for COVID-19, we know that our community members need immediate medical attention for a variety of illnesses, injuries, and trauma.

As your Exceptional choice for our 24-hour emergency room, we’d like you to know that we consider you and your family’s safety and well-being, our top priority. You can always come into our emergency room to get evaluated on-site. Because we are an emergency room, wait times are often unpredictable.

How Exceptional Emergency Center Protects You from COVID-19
At Exceptional Emergency Center, we are setting the gold standard for Freestanding Emergency Rooms during this time of a global pandemic. (or in the age of COVID-19.)

Please help us with social distance by booking your COVID-19 appointment online.

When our COVID-19 patients book online it helps us prepare with additional cleaning supplies, PPE, and staff to ensure top safety for both our employees and patients. This also helps us minimize exposure by controlling traffic flow. At Exceptional Emergency Center we are doing everything we can to keep you, your loved ones, and our staff safe.

Exceptional Emergency Centers, the best ER Care throughout Texas, are now Evaluating and Testing for COVID-19

  • If you have questions call your local center prior to arrival (Find Location)
  • Scheduling highly recommended to control exposure
  • Our emergency rooms are always open 24/7

Are you at risk of contracting Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

  • Have you been in contact with someone who later tested positive for COVID-19?
  • Are you experiencing fever, cough, headache, or shortness of breath?
  • Is your spouse, child, or someone in your home positive for COVID-19?
  • Are you a healthcare worker, first responder, or someone that interacts with patients every day?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, you may need to get tested for COVID-19.

We have two different tests available – the Antigen test (Rapid Test) and the Molecular (PCR) test.

  1. Antigen Test (The Rapid Test)

Available at Exceptional: Yes On-Site or Send Out? On-Site Results typically back in 15 Minutes

Rapid antigen tests are easily performed at our ER via nasal swab. The test detects a viral protein in an actively infected person. The manufacturer published data that states the test demonstrates 100% specificity if results are positive. (Meaning: if the sample is positive it is 100% accurate) and demonstrates 87.5% sensitivity (meaning: if the sample is negative, it is 87.5% accurate).

  1. Molecular (PCR and *RT-PCR) Test

*Now offering RT-PCR Test at selected location [Sachse,Tyler, Amarillo South, Beaumont, Livingston, Harlingen & Brownsville]
RT-PCR Available at Exceptional ER: Yes
ON-SITE or SEND OUT? ON-SITE
RESULTS BACK IN 60 MINS

Molecular (PCR) Test Available at Exceptional ER: Yes
Available at Exceptional: Yes On-site or Send Out? Send Out Results typically back in 3 to 7 business days

PCR tests are performed via nasopharyngeal swab. The test detects the viral genetic material (RNA). If a sample test negative via antigen testing (rapid test) and you have either COVID-19 symptoms or have been in direct contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 it is advisable to confirm with molecular testing (PCR).

Monoclonal Antibodies & Latest Treatment Protocols for Covid-19

EXCEPTIONAL EMERGENCY CENTERS are using Monoclonal Antibodies & Latest Treatment Protocols for Covid-19.

Our Doctors have been at the forefront of early-onset COVID-19 mitigation, and we are grateful to announce that we have some latest and highly beneficial treatment protocols including BAM [Bamlanivimab] infusions.

The Texas DSHS Vaccination program approves Exceptional Emergency Center as a registered provider. One of a few currently registered in the State to administer the Monoclonal, also know as BAM [Bamlanivimab]. When a COVID-19 positive patient arrives at any of our facilities, our medical staff will consider their need for a BAM infusion, alongside our multi-faceted COVID-19 response. Highly effective in reducing the need for hospitalizations when delivered during the initial week of infection.
Treatment can begin immediately in our facility, and patients are then kept for observation. Give us a call to learn more about the treatment & how Exceptional ERs are helping communities and our patients.

COVID-19 TESTING UPDATE:

The Exceptional Emergency Room staff and physicians care about you and your loved ones. We are here 24/7 for all your emergency care needs.

  1. If you are experiencing fever, shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, weakness, numbness, sensory loss, or any other emergent medical problems, please call 911 or seek medical care immediately at your nearest Emergency Room.
  2. To provide the highest quality emergency medical care to our communities, we are directing all routine COVID testing to outpatient community resources.
  3. Testing through local resources, including your primary care doctor, urgent care, walk-in clinic, or local health department, is appropriate under the following circumstances:
    1. If you have been exposed to a person known to have COVID, and you do not have symptoms, we recommend that you self-quarantine at home and seek testing 4-5 days after exposure. It often takes this long for the infection to be detected by routine lab testing.
    2. If you have no symptoms or very mild symptoms, outpatient testing is also typically appropriate.
    3. Please follow this link for local COVID testing resources.
  4. If you have tested negative, you should still self-quarantine for 14 days from the day of suspected exposure as it can take anywhere from 2-14 days to come down with symptoms of this infection.
  5. Please kindly limit your phone time with our Emergency Rooms as the phone lines are needed to communicate with other health care entities and to provide patients their test results. Thank you for your understanding during this trying time.
